专用集成电路与系统国家重点实验室 讲座信息 题 目:Selected views on heterogenuous distributed processing with special respect to FPGA technology 报告人:Martin Schüler 时 间:2015年12月2日周三10:00am 地 点:张江校区微电子楼369室 Abstract Over the last decade requirements on signal, image and data processing demand grew faster than the increase of speed gains due to to process technology advances. This resulted to more distributed systems. The units used for processing are manifold, ranging from simple or complex CPU approaches over DSP units to strong SIMD based GPU solutions. FPGA have nominally low clock speed, but due to their abundant internal interconnect ressources FPGA are unparalleled in their versatility. Especially the integration of internal memories and DSP units improved FPGA processing capabilities. On their connection to the outside, the transceiver units allow to operate interfaces at ASIC speeds. To address future high processing demands have to be addressed by architectures that feature paralleled hardware units and their software must address the efficient deployment of control and data flows. Biography I acquired my Diplom degree (master of electrical engineering and economics) at the Technical University of Brunswick, Germany, where I also participated in VLSI design projects. I founded my company already 1990 for multimedia hardware and software in parallel to my university education. Since 1995 we did work on various FPGA of different technology. My work areas included: numerous CPU/MCU, Memory and Interface Standards (1995-2004), Multimedia/Video/Graphics(1995-2006), DVBT/OFDM Wireless(2000-2008), AIS/FM Wireless Systems (2001-2004), Medical/Signal Processing/Supersonic (2006-2015), Thermodynamics/Realtime Simulation/(2008-2010). I made several major contributions to publications and patents as in cryptography, fuel cell management, Realtime Simulation.
